The United Progressive Party extends heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to all individuals, families, and business owners affected by the latest devastating fires in the city of Roseau. These incidents have once again brought pain, loss, and uncertainty to members of our community, including our Party Leader, Hon. Joshua Francis, whose law office sustained severe damage during the most recent blaze.
Our thoughts and prayers are with every person who has suffered loss as a result of these tragic events. We pray that God will grant courage, strength, comfort, and resilience to all those affected as they navigate this difficult period and begin the process of rebuilding their lives and livelihoods.
In light of these recent incidents of fire occurring within the capital city, many citizens are understandably raising serious questions regarding the origin and causes of these occurrences. While we refrain from speculation, we believe the people of Dominica deserve clarity, transparency, and answers.
The United Progressive Party therefore calls upon the relevant authorities to conduct swift, thorough, and professional investigations into these fires and to ensure that every necessary resource is utilized in determining their cause. Public confidence and national security demand that these matters be treated with the utmost urgency and seriousness.
At this difficult moment, we encourage the nation to stand united in compassion and solidarity with those impacted. Dominicans have always demonstrated resilience in times of crisis, and we remain hopeful that together we will overcome these challenges.
