Two Dominican Basketball Teams are set to play in the first 3 x 3 Latin America cup in Puerto Rico

The Dominican Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) is pleased to announce that it will be sending two teams to participate in the first 3 x 3 Latin America cup to be held in Puerto Rico this weekend from June 3rd to 5th.
The two teams that have been selected is one male and one female team.
The male team comprises of Kiefer Francis, Javeed Joseph, Donny Robinson and Peter Ricketts.  The female team comprise of Sawana Fabien, Lisa James, Curline Luke and Shermana Mclawrence.
The tournament will have 12 male teams and 8 female teams participating.
According to a press statement, the reason why the DABA “aggressively” pursued participating in this event is because it is one of the rare events where the host covers all the expenses such as lodging, food, local transportation and monetary prize.
However, even more important this is a tournament that is within the pro circuit system for FIBA’s 3 x 3 world tour meaning that this will provide a lot more points to rank up the entire country for 3 x 3 which will contribute towards Dominica’s goal in qualifying and participating in the Olympics.
“We are rather excited. It was unfortunate that a number of players that were supposed to participate were unable to due to Visa constraints but we are still happy with the teams that we were able to put together and we wish them the best as they go on to compete this weekend.”
The games will be live and will be share as soon as the links are available on DABA’s Facebook page.
