St. Martin Primary School topped the Grade Six National Examination

The Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development is pleased to announce the release of the 2021 Grade 6 National assessment results. This year, a total of 896 students wrote the examinations. That is, 430 female and 466 males.

On the basis of this year’s results Government has decided to award scholarships to all Students who obtained a total of 18, 19 or 20 points, that is four As OR 3 As and 1 BOR 2 As and 2 Bs OR 3As and 1 C.

Bursaries are awarded to students who obtained totals of 16 or 17points, that is 2 As, 1 B and 1 C OR 1 A and 3 Bs OR 3 As and 1 D OR 3 As and 1 E OR 2 As and 2 Cs OR 1 A, 2Bs and 1 C OR 2 As, 1 B and 1 D OR 4 Bs.

On this basis 67 students were awarded scholarships and 108 were awarded bursaries.

The amount allocated to scholars and bursaries for textbooks and stationery is $1000.00 and $700 respectively.

Top performers from SMPS can Convent Preparatory school

As in previous years, students selected to enter the Roseau, ITSS and Portsmouth Secondary Schools’ catchment area will receive forms on which they are to indicate their ranked choice of schools they would like to attend.  Once these forms have been returned to the Ministry, the Ministry will work with the Principals of all secondary schools in the these catchment area to ensure that all students in the Roseau, ITSS and Portsmouth secondary school catchment areas are placed in school.

The Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development would like to thank all those involved in the Grade 6 National Assessment, to members of the subject committees, teachers who wrote items for the examination, the centre coordinators and supervisors, the Police and professionals in the Ministry who monitored the conduct of the examinations.
