The closing ceremony for the ADOPT Caribbean – Soil Health for Climate-Resilient Agriculture Project was held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Agricultural Biotechnology Centre in Orange Hill, marking a significant milestone in advancing climate-smart agriculture and sustainable soil management in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The project was implemented through a collaborative partnership involving the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation (MAFRT), the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre, the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM), AGROSAVIA of Colombia, and other regional stakeholders.
Funded by the Government of New Zealand under its Climate Smart Agriculture Initiative, the programme formed part of a broader regional effort also being implemented in Guyana and Jamaica.
Throughout its implementation, the project focused on improving soil health, promoting sustainable farming practices, and strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems to the impacts of climate change.
Officials highlighted the importance of partnerships and innovation in supporting food security and sustainable agricultural development, while expressing optimism that the knowledge and tools introduced through the project will continue to benefit farmers and the wider agricultural sector in the years ahead.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
