Representative for EULAC arrives in Dominica to promote the body

EULAC (European Union – Latin America and Caribbean) Foundation, Executive Director Paola Amadei, is here in Dominica to ratify an agreement between Dominica and the Foundation. Amadei provided that the EULAC Foundation was established by the Governments of Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union in 2011 to improve mutual knowledge and visibility of the countries therein.

Amadei provided that at present the Foundation has a membership of 61 countries and they are undergoing a transformation to become an international organization. As a result of this, countries need to ratify the agreement in order to achieve the Foundation’s goal of gaining international status. Yesterday, St. Kitts became the first Eastern Caribbean country to sign this agreement, and Amadei stated that EULAC is one step closer to gaining this international status.

Dominica is also expected to ratify this agreement. Amadei hopes that other Eastern Caribbean countries will sign on to help project the Foundation to a broader platform.
