Castries, Saint Lucia โ 20 February 2026 โ The Honourable Philip J. Pierre, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia has confirmed his attendance at the Fiftieth (50th) Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government scheduled to take place in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis, from Tuesday, 24 to Friday, 27 February 2026.
The Meeting will convene under the theme โBeyond Words: Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM,โ and will provide a strategic platform for advancing collective action on regional priorities including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), climate change and climate financing, food and nutrition security, regional security, transportation, reparations, foreign and community relations, and other pressing global and hemispheric issues.
Prime Minister Pierreโs participation underscores Saint Luciaโs continued commitment to deepening regional integration and unity of purpose among CARICOM Member States. As Incoming Chair of the Conference for the first half of 2026, Saint Lucia will work collaboratively with regional partners to support the implementation of decisions arising from Heads of Government deliberations and to sustain momentum on key regional objectives.
According to official CARICOM information, the Hon. Dr. Terrance M. Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, is the Current Chair of CARICOM, having assumed the chairmanship of the Community on 1 January 2026; and the Outgoing Chair is the Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica.
The Opening Ceremony will be held on 24 February 2026 at 4:00 p.m. AST at the Marriott Dome, Frigate Bay, where Prime Minister Pierre will join fellow regional leaders, including the Current Chair, the Honourable Dr. Terrance M. Drew, and the Outgoing Chair, the Honourable Andrew Holness, in setting the tone for the strategic discussions ahead.
The CARICOM Secretariat has also launched a dedicated Knowledge Hub offering comprehensive information and updates ahead of the Conference, including programme details, thematic briefs, media resources, speaker profiles, and livestream access to key sessions such as the Opening Ceremony and Closing Media Conference. Media practitioners and members of the public are encouraged to access the 50th HGC Information Hub at: https://caricom.org/50hgc.
