Prime Minister Andrew Holness, along with six other heads of state, will inaugurate CAF’s International Economic Forum in Panama

The Prime Minister of Jamaica, Honourable Andrew Holness, will inaugurate CAF’s Second International Economic Forum in Panama, along with the heads of state of Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Guatemala, CAF’s Executive President, Sergio Díaz-Granados, and the President-elect of Chile. The event will take place on January 28, and his participation can be followed at www.caf.com.

The International Economic Forum – Latin America and Caribbean 2026, organized by CAF -Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, will bring together more than 2,500 global political, economic, and academic leaders on January 28 and 29 in Panama City. The Forum will feature the participation of seven heads of state and two Nobel Prize winners in Economics and will become the main political and economic meeting point to rethink the region’s positioning in an increasingly changing environment.

The inaugural session of the forum will be led by CAF’s Executive President, Sergio Díaz-Granados, along with Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica; Bernardo Arévalo, President of Guatemala; Daniel Noboa, President of Ecuador; Rodrigo Paz, President of Bolivia; Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil; José Raúl Mulino, President of Panama; and Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia. Additionally, the President-elect of Chile, José Antonio Kast, will participate.

The forum will also include presentations by the 2024 and 2025 Nobel Laureates in Economics, James Robinson and Philippe Aghion, and will bring together heads of state and government ministers, business leaders, representatives of international organizations, and leading academics to examine the region’s main challenges and opportunities and to advance solutions that promote growth, inclusion, and competitiveness.
