Rotary Club of Dominica & Police Community Policing Team Rehabilitate Silver Lake Washroom Facility

Roseau, Dominica – April 16, 2026: The Rotary Club of Dominica, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force – Community Policing Team, has completed the rehabilitation of the Silver Lake washroom facility, a community landmark originally constructed in 1982.

The project, valued at over EC$33,000.00, underscores a joint commitment to community development and improved public sanitation. The upgraded facility is expected to enhance hygiene and overall conditions for residents.

A handover ceremony was held on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Remarks were delivered by Minister for National Security and Legal Affairs, Honourable Rayburn Blackmoore; Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South Constituency, Honourable Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite; and Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lincoln Corbette. Also in attendance were members of the Rotary Club, police officers, the Silver Lake Community Policing Team, and residents.

“This project is a testament to what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared vision to improve the lives of citizens. The rehabilitation of this facility is not just about infrastructure—it is about dignity, health, and community pride,” President of the Rotary Club of Dominica noted.

Speakers emphasized the value of partnership and collaboration in delivering impactful community initiatives.

The Rotary Club of Dominica, chartered on July 1, 1974, is part of District 7030, which spans St. Kitts to Suriname and comprises 75 clubs and over 3,200 Rotarians.
