Poor decisions by the unvaccinated may prove severe or fatal – says Coordinator of the Home Quarantine Programme

In the Ministry of Health’s address on September 29th 2021, Dr. Gilda Nesty-Tonge, Coordinator of the Home Quarantine Programme – Mobile Testing Team, explained that there have been many scenarios in which persons have neglected to contact the Covid-19 unit to report their symptoms. This has resulted either in an intensification of their symptoms or in some instances death.Β

Dr. Nesty-Tonge expressed, β€œLadies and gentlemen these scenarios are a common everyday occurrence for the mobile team of the home isolation unit. We continue to witness the consequences of the poor decisions made by our unvaccinated youth.”

Furthermore, she noted that it is evident that poor decisions are being made because of the vast number of elder patients who are currently admitted to the Covid-19 government facility. β€œWe continue to witness the effects of those who are not adhering to the protocols of the Ministry of Health,” she stated disappointingly.

According to her, the threat of difficult ramifications is most certainly real. She expressed further that while becoming vaccinated is not mandatory, unvaccinated people still do not have the right to risk the safety of the health care system, our personal lives or the lives of the most vulnerable.

Moreover, she urges that if anyone is experiencing flu like symptoms that they wear a mask at home, wash their hands and get to know their status urgently. Of utmost importance, she reiterates the need for getting vaccinated and urges parents to allow their children to get the Pfizer vaccine. β€œAs of September 28th 2021, we have administered 531 first doses to children who are 12 years and above. We have also administered 738 first doses to adults, that is, persons between the age of 18 and above.”

Nevertheless, Dr. Nesty-Tonge noted that their target number of children for vaccination is 7496. While they have made some strides since the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine, there is still a long way to go. Therefore, persons should be vigilant of their symptoms, adhere to the protocols and get vaccinated before it’s too late.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
