Poetry Book Launch

US-based ‘son of the soil’ Michael Marshall Drigo, has launched his first book of poems entitled “A Poem in a Minute”.

Michael or Mike as he is affectionately known, who hails from the quaint west coast village of St. Joseph in the Commonwealth of Dominica, remarked that “he is very excited to see one of his lifelong dreams become a reality”.  He has dedicated the book in memory of his deceased mother, Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Drigo, who instilled particular values and norms during his upbringing, which are aptly reflected in his writings.

Poem in a Minute is a paperback edition consisting of fifty-eight (58), heart-melting, page- turning, thought-provoking, emotionally-yearning exposés.  There is a central theme of ‘love and romance’, but the poetic expressions are more far reaching.  Each poem has its own personality, conveying feelings of gratitude, passion, pleasure, lust, love and appreciation.  Michael likens his writings to an “Anticipation that creates a swift and smooth yearning to go home to a space of pure bliss and wanting so much to express the thrills that keep you real.”

Some of the titles include Agape, My Spice, Thanks, Quiet and Will You.  One of his most revered poems entitled ‘Woman’ is a special tribute to all women including his Mother in which he admits that a woman’s worth is “beyond measure”.

Michael is humbled by the response and reviews to his book thus far.  He wishes to express his gratitude to his production team which made this venture a reality as well as the numerous fans and friends who have already purchased copies.

A Poem in a Minute is presently available from the Author himself, Amazon (US$19.99) and Kindle (US$4.99).  Copies will be available for sale at EC$60 in Dominica very soon.
