Opposition Leader Lennox Linton Speaks Out on the Tragic Death of Dominican Residing in Anguilla

Honorable Lennox Linton is speaking out on the tragic death of Kenny Mitchel. In a recent telephone interview on Q95 Radio, Mr. Linton reiterated information revealed in The Anguillan, which indicated that the young man, Kenny Richie Marty Mitchel, was subjected to prone restraint, which in combination with positional asphyxia and talks of blunt force trauma, alludes to the fact that Mr. Mitchel was beaten.

Linton, who is a firm believer that all lives matter, sees this incident as a troubling one.

Gavin Hapgood, a US citizen and financial advisor in New York, has been charged with the manslaughter of Dominican Kenny Mitchel. He has since been granted bail in the sum of EC $200,000 and is presently in the United States.

Linton commented on the way the matter is being handled including the controversial bail granted. He says this poses the question as to whether some lives are more precious than others.
