The Nouveaux Regards Film Festival (NRFF) invites film professionals and audiences to
Guadeloupe from March 25 to 29, 2026 for its 9th edition, and unveils on this occasion the
official festival poster.
Since its creation in 2017, NRFF has established itself as a leading event for cinema in the
Caribbean, dedicated to discovering new storytelling voices, emerging perspectives, and
innovative formats. A pioneer in the region, the festival explores the transformations of
contemporary cinema while highlighting Caribbean narratives in constant dialogue with
international creation.
A Festival to Experience Cinema Differently
The Nouveaux Regards Film Festival stands out for its demanding yet accessible program,
combining Caribbean films and international works presented for the first time in
Guadeloupe, screened both in traditional cinemas and in unusual venues.
Screenings, discussions and exchanges with national and international guests shape the festival
experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere supported by strong artistic standards.
The program is structured around:
• A competition dedicated to Caribbean cinema, showcasing new voices and storytelling
approaches
• Out-of-competition programs aimed at general audiences, school groups and senior
audiences
• A VR Room, dedicated to immersive virtual reality works
• The NR Academy, a space for professional exchange and knowledge-sharing through
conferences, workshops and industry meetings for audiovisual professionals
The 2026 Poster: Between Urban Poetry and Caribbean Identity
The official poster for this 9th edition is taken from the “Lapwent” series (2025) by artist Shahine
Héry.
The photograph was taken in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), at that suspended moment when night
fades and the day begins to emerge. These early hours, when everything slowly regains its rhythm,

Official Partner
reveal a city both awake and quietly observing itself: early workers, elderly residents, discreet
presences, a living human heritage.
Despite the tensions that run through it, Pointe-à-Pitre remains filled with warmth and deep
kindness.
The title of the series becomes evident in the image: a man sits on the edge of a building, as if on
the edge of the world itself — suspended between contemplation, freedom and melancholy. It
evokes an intimate feeling that mirrors what this city, the beating heart of Guadeloupe, represents:
freedom, struggle and sovereignty.
A multidisciplinary visual artist, Shahine Héry develops hybrid works combining photography,
video, sound, illustration and poetry. Her artistic research explores the ambiguity of perception and
the relationship between the Self and the Other through symbolic and sensitive storytelling,
nourished by mythological and human references.
Born in Guadeloupe and shaped by a multicultural heritage, her work reflects on identity, memory
and the tensions that run through humanity.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
