No Motorcade for 2019 General Elections

On Monday, Police Chief Daniel Carbon announced that he has not granted permission to allow the political parties to hold the usual motorcade which precedes a General Election.

The political parties wrote to him seeking to have the motorcade on Sunday 1, December. He says, “I have not given permission for any of the parties to have any motorcade at any day.”

Carbon said that he has concerns about the security of the state and that there will be two cruise ships in port on the same day and one of those ships is a mega-ship.“I have to take the safety of motorists, road users, pedestrians into consideration.”

Carbon called on the general public to take note that he has “not given permission to any of the parties to have any motorcade, not on Sunday, not on any day.”
