Nigeria Dominica Association (NDA) Executives Meet with Her Excellency, the President of Dominica

The Nigeria Dominica Association (NDA) proudly announces a momentous engagement as its executive delegation had the esteemed privilege of meeting with Her Excellency, Hon. Mrs. Sylvanie Burton, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the State House, Victoria Street, Roseau.

This historic engagement marks a significant milestone in strengthening the ties between the Nigerian community in Dominica and the Dominican government. Led by Dr. Gbenga Charles Oladele (MD), President of the Nigeria Dominica Association, the delegation reaffirmed the Association’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity, collaboration, and development within both communities.

The meeting was highly productive, providing an opportunity for the NDA delegation to present the Association’s vision, discuss key areas of collaboration, and to formally present a portrait to Her Excellency in appreciation of her leadership and dedication to national progress.

In his remarks, Dr. Gbenga Charles Oladele (MD), President of the Nigeria Dominica Association, emphasized the significance of this engagement, stating:

“This meeting with Her Excellency represents a defining moment for Nigerians in Dominica. It reaffirms our shared values of inclusivity, development, and cultural exchange while setting the stage for meaningful partnerships that will benefit both communities. During the meeting, Her Excellency, Hon. Mrs. Sylvanie Burton, congratulated Dr. Gbenga Charles Oladele and Dr. Mutiu Olagunju on their appointments as District Medical Officers (DMO) of Castle Bruce health district and Roseau health district, respectively. She also expressed profound gratitude to the delegation for the invaluable contributions of Nigerian citizens in Dominica, particularly in the healthcare sector. Acknowledging the growing presence of Nigerian doctors and nurses in the country, she commended their dedication and service in strengthening Dominica’s healthcare system.
