My fellow Dominicans, I am honored to greet you at the start of a new year. As a nation we were faced with many challenges last year but the Covid – 19 Pandemic and the major impact that it had both on the health and economy of our nation has been the greatest.
We lost loved ones, our freedom was limited with so many restrictions and so many among us lost jobs and was heavily impacted financially. Yet, as a people, we have shown how truly resilient we are. Our health care workers, our heroes, have sacrificed and given their service to the people of Dominica. There sacrifice must be recognized.
Despite our many challenges, we enter 2022 with no fear. We are strong people, we overcame Erika, Maria and together we will overcome the Covid Pandemic.
The New Year comes with new opportunities so I urge you to take advantage of these opportunities and to those who are not given opportunities, I encourage you to think outside the box and create your own opportunities. Do not let the failures and disappointments of last year hinder you, believe in yourself and success will be inevitable.
My fellow Dominicans, let us remain committed to building our nation but let us do it together. The Alternative Peoples` Party which I am honored to lead, calls for a united effort from all political parties and groups in the task of building our country. Remember alone we can do so little but together we can do so much. Let us put aside our political differences and work together as we put the people of Dominica first.
The App team pledges its continued commitment and dedication to you the people and will work twice as hard to provide a better life for all Dominicans. We commit ourselves to serving you the people and we ask that you accept us and pray for us as we pray for you.
Pray also for the Honorable Prime Minister, that he may have wisdom in making good decisions according to God`s leading. Pray for the Leader of the Opposition and all Opposition Leaders, that they exercise discernment even as they oppose and that their hearts may be filled with the spirit of peace and unity.
I pray that this year will be filled with love, joy, prosperity, success, great health and a year of nation building together.
