Hon. Roselyn Paul, Minister with the responsibility of Sports and Culture said over the weekend that she is in full support of the Creole Language to be included as part of the curriculum in schools in Dominica.
The Minister said that the teaching of Creole in schools has been advocated for many years now. She referenced Creole Language champion, the late Felix Henderson who was instrumental in bringing the Language to the fore and who advocated for the inclusion of Creole in schools as well.
She said, “I too, as Minister of Culture that is something I would want to advance so this would be on the agenda, continue to be on the agenda. It would mean working with the curriculum unit, the Ministry of Education to ensure that it is done in the proper way. So maybe we could start as having conversational Creole materials in the school; already we have creole week and that our schools have bought into so it’s a matter of…, the interest is there, the passion is there but is to ensure you put the structure and the necessary curriculum in place”.
The Minister made these comments in light of the passing of Creole Icon Felix Henderson, who was laid to rest on Saturday.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
