Lupus Foundation of Dominica receives donation from Fine Foods Inc for Lupus Awareness Month

Fine Foods Inc., through its Soft Weave brand, has reinforced its commitment to supporting meaningful community initiatives through the launch of its Soft Weave Cares campaign. This year, the brand partnered with the Lupus Foundation of Dominica under the theme “Make Lupus Visible”, an initiative aimed at raising awareness, fostering understanding, and encouraging greater support for those impacted by lupus across Dominica.

Often described as an “invisible illness,” lupus can be difficult for others to recognize or fully understand. Through this campaign, Soft Weave sought to bring greater visibility to the experiences of those affected while encouraging important conversations within the wider community.

As part of the initiative, a portion of the proceeds from Soft Weave products, including tissue paper, napkins, and paper towels, was donated to the Lupus Foundation of Dominica, a non-profit organization dedicated to advocacy, awareness, education, and support.

In addition to the fundraising efforts, members of the Fine Foods Inc. team participated in the Lupus Foundation’s annual awareness walk and launched a Lupus Awareness Video Series on social media. The series featured educational and inspiring stories from a medical professional and warrior who shared their personal experience with lupus. The series aimed to deepen public understanding and highlight the importance of empathy, and support.

The donation was formally presented to Mrs. Glorine Thomas, President of the Lupus Foundation of Dominica, who expressed her sincere appreciation for the partnership and support.

Speaking on behalf of the brand, Josie Polydore, Marketing Lead for Soft Weave, highlighted the importance of using the platform of a trusted household brand to make a positive impact within the community. “At Fine Foods Inc., we believe that caring extends beyond the home and into the communities we serve. Through Soft Weave Cares, we are proud to support initiatives that promote awareness, understanding, and meaningful connections. We hope this campaign encourages continued conversations and inspires greater support for those affected by lupus.”

Fine Foods Inc. extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many consumers whose support helped make the initiative possible and remains dedicated to giving back to the community and partnering with organizations that make a meaningful difference. The company looks forward to continuing its efforts to support important causes and contribute to the well-being of communities across Dominica.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
