Lights and Cheer for Residents of the Dominica Infirmary

Lights and Cheer for Residents of the Dominica Infirmary

The management, staff, and residents of the Dominica infirmary were at the receiving end of some Goodwill by the Dominica Lions and Leo Clubs on Saturday, December 4, 2021.  The Clubs presented the Home with a hamper of cleaning supplies and toiletries, following which the Leolites, comprising of Leo Vice President Ameka and Prospective Member Angelina serenaded the residents with renditions of some popular Christmas Carols, including  We Wish you a Merry Christmas,  to spread the Christmas Cheer.

The project came about as the Clubs remembered hosting Carols by Candlelight,  an annual celebration by the Dominica Lions Club in years past.  The last two episodes of the ceremony were held at the Dominica infirmary, but due to Covid-19 and the various protocols in place, it was not possible to undertake the full complement of the project.

The project also involved the lighting of a number of shrubs on the Infirmary Compound to bring in the spirit of the season to the residents.

The Club would like to thank the various sponsors who contributed in one way or another to this project.

The Lions Club of Dominica is a non -profit service organization that operates under the auspices of Lions Club International, while the Leo Club is the youth arm of the Lions Club.
