After a long absence, on Sunday March 3rd, 2018 the streets of Roseau were once again filled with children and parents taking part in the Kiddies Carnival, held under the theme ‘Come As You Like”.
Traditionally children wear a “Come As You Like” costume on the Friday before Carnival as part of their school activities. The Kiddies Carnival allowed children to display their same “Come As You Like” costume on Sunday in the parade. The parade, which travelled up Kennedy Avenue, culminated with music from DJ Snow and Triple Kay, games and refreshments at the Carnival City.
President of JCI Dominica, Mr. James Rodney commented, “Kiddies Carnival was testament to the drive of JCI Dominica to truly create impact. The children enjoyed themselves and the parents were very happy for the initiative. All in all it was a success and now that we have a foundation, next year is poised to be even better with the continued collaboration with the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA). One area we will look to improve on is an increased participation from the schools and carnival youth groups.”
“JCI Dominica was once one instrumental in the organization of Kiddies Carnival in Dominica. As JCI Dominica celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, this event provided a perfect platform for the current JCI membership to execute an event which is deep in JCI Dominica’s history We want to highlight the tremendous work, time and effort of the JCI Dominica team members in executing Kiddies Carnival 2019 as our contributions to the Real Mas”, Mr. Rodney further added.
Prizes were awarded as follows for the parade
Prince of Parade – Lyric Defoe (Superman costume)
Princess of Parade – Asha Peter (Fairy costume)
Special Recognition – Ma Blanc (Senior citizen) who participated dressed as Pipi long stockings.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
