Tourism minister, Hon. Denise Charles is pleased with the results of the 12th annual Jazz and Creole Festival. She says that the Festival has an increase in patrons and and increase in monetary contributions to the local economy.

“We are delighted to report the successful conclusion of the 12th edition of Dominica’s Jazz and Creole…The festival saw an impressive 55% increase in revenue and a 59% boost in attendance from 2022. Attracting visitors from the region, the French West Indies, the United States and Dominican nationals abroad. The heightened economic activity estimated at triple the government’s investment benefitted local businesses, designers, make up artists, accommodation providers, restaurant owners, tour guides and local artists just to name a few.”

Charles thanked all stakeholders who collaborated ‘in ensuring an exceptional experience consistently praised by attendees’, and looks forward to the next big event on Dominica’s calendar.

“As we applaud the patrons, partners and stakeholders of Jazz and Creole for their support, we eagerly anticipate the upcoming World Creole Music Festival.”

According to Charles such events are crucial to Dominica’s economy. She encourages all to continue to support these events which are important contributors to our country’s growth and development.
