International Nurses Day Conference

International Nurses Day Conference

As nurses around the world celebrate International Nurses Day (May 12th) under the theme Nurses a Voice to Lead: Health for All, the Nursing Department of All Saints University School of Medicine (ASUSM) is partnering with the Dominica Nurses Association to host a mini-educational conference focusing on “Resilience through Complementary Therapies”.

As the International Council of Nurses call on nurses to focus on innovative ways to address health-related issues, the ASUSM has decided to turn its focus to nurses health and ways of complementing mainstream medicine.  Dominican nurses, like many of their counterparts worldwide, are faced with many personal and professional challenges which may affect the way in which they give care.

On Monday, May 13th from 2:30 pm, qualified and experienced professionals will expound on topics which will both empower nurses in caring for themselves and raise awareness of alternate means for meeting health of all people through diverse means.  Topics include Power of Prayer, Medicinal use of Marijuana and Financial Health.

This conference is being hosted in appreciation of the valuable contribution of nurses to our society and the health care system in particular

The All Saints University School of Medicine joins all in wishing our nurses good health for International Nurses Day and beyond.
