At a Press Briefing held on the 3rd day of October, 2023 the Prime Minister announced that its Government has procured a 5.2 megawatts generator to assist DOMLEC in load shedding.
This generator was originally needed to be used as a back up generator at the International Airport however the Government has advanced its purchase to avoid any increase in the cost of electricity in Dominica says Prime Minister Skerrit.
This generator will be leased to DOMLEC at a non commercial rate for consumers.The Prime minister further extended his empathy to the citizens of Dominica stipulating that he is concerned about the frustration and aggravation that persons are going through in light of this load shedding.
