Frederick Paul Is Undefeated Champion In Creole Spelling Bee

The Paix Pouche Primary School Parent Teacher Association(PTA) hosted its 2nd annual Kweyol Spelling Bee Competition on Saturday 15, April 2023 at the Paix Bouche Primary School.  

The five participants comprising of three males and two females, representing a cross section of the population were given a copy of the words prior.

Defending champion Federick Paul regained the championship having spelt all 20 words accurately and fluently in the first round.

There was a three way tie among persons who missed one word. After the tie breaker, second place went to Nyra Remy, the youngest competitor.

According to the president of the PTA Adele Thomas, the success of the event is encouraging and will definitely make its continuance likely. She added that community members turned out in large numbers to support the activity which was well received.

The event was sponsored by the Signman Ltd, Emonews and Eunica Anthony Victor.

The results were as follows:

Winner- Frederick Paul

1st place- Nyra Remy

2nd place- Merle George
