WePlanet Inc. Secures Youth Empowerment Fund Grant to Drive Youth-Led  Climate Action in Dominica

Roseau, Dominica – April 22nd, 2026

WePlanet Inc., a youth-led environmental social enterprise in Dominica, has been awarded funding  under the Youth Empowerment Fund for its project, “Small Actions. Big Change: Youth-Led  Digital Innovation Driving Climate Action.”

The Youth Empowerment Fund, supported by the European Union in partnership with the Global  Youth Mobilization (an initiative of the Big Six Youth Organisations), provides direct support to  youth-led initiatives advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the community  level.

This project responds to growing environmental challenges in Dominica, particularly the misuse  of non-biodegradable materials and the need for more engaging, community-driven approaches to  sustainable living. Building on its existing mobile application and ambassador network, WePlanet  will scale a digital, incentive-based model that encourages individuals to adopt eco-friendly habits  in their everyday lives.

Over the project period, WePlanet will:

• Expand its Ambassador Programme, equipping young leaders to drive climate action in  schools and communities

• Launch an Eco-Points Drive, partnering with local businesses to reward sustainable  behaviours

• Host a Stakeholder Engagement Forum to strengthen collaboration across the public and  private sectors

• Implement an Install & Learn Campaign, engaging students in interactive eco-learning and  climate challenges through the WePlanet App

The initiative aims to mobilise students, communities, and private and public sector partners, while  fostering long-term behavioural change through gamified digital tools and grassroots engagement.

Speaking on the award, Christianna Paul, Co-Founder of WePlanet Inc., stated:

“This project is about making climate action practical and accessible. By combining youth  leadership with digital innovation, we are creating a system where sustainable choices are not  only encouraged, but rewarded and sustained within our communities.”

WePlanet Inc. expressed its gratitude to the Youth Empowerment Fund, the European Union, and  the Global Youth Mobilization for their commitment to empowering young people and supporting  locally driven climate solutions.

The project will be implemented throughout 2026, engaging young people, schools, businesses,  and communities across Dominica in collective climate action.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
