Interrogating Justices Book Launch
Professor R. Clive Landis, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Campus Principal of The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, cordially invites you to the book launch of a Festschrift in honour of Professor Sir Hilary Beckles.
The Festschrift in academia is a volume of writings contributed by several authors which honours distinguished colleagues. Interrogating Injustices Essays in honour of Hilary McD. Beckles is a compilation which recognises the legacy of the 8th Vice-Chancellor of The UWI as a distinguished academic, international thought leader, United Nations committee official, and global public activist in the field of social justice and minority empowerment. Its editors include Professor Verene Shepherd, Dr. Henderson D. Carter and Dr. Ahmed N. Reid.
The book launch will be held at the Walcott Warner Theatre, Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, The UWI, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados, on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 7:00 PM (AST/Eastern Caribbean) | 6:00 PM (Jamaica/EST). The event will be carried live on UWItv’s cable channel, website and Facebook page.
The programme features Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, H.E. Mr. David Commissiong, an Editors’ conversation – with Professor Shepherd, Dr. Carter and Dr. Ahmed, performance by Cultural Ambassador Dr. The Most Hon Anthony “Gabby” Carter, and remarks by the honoree, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles.
