Under the auspices of the UWI Open Campus Dominica and the Alliance Francaise de La Dominique, family and friends will join Dr. Alwin Bully as Dr. Lennox Honychurch, longtime friend, Historian and Archeologist, will pay tribute to him in a presentation entitled “The Sternest Passion: Alwin Bully & the Caribbean Cultural Renaissance” today, Wednesday, 23 November, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The event comes on Dr. Bully’s 74th birthday.

This presentation which traces Bully’s life from a young boy to present, will highlight not only the early influences that nurtured this Caribbean Cultural Icon, but also his period in Barbados where he attended UWI Cave Hill; his return to Dominica after graduating, working at Dominica Grammar School, the Dominica Broadcasting Station (DBS) and the Cultural Division; his move to the UNESCO Caribbean Office in Jamaica where he worked for 20 years, and his return to Dominica.
This interactive presentation will allow persons to share their experiences with this multitalented Cultural Icon.
Through the kind compliments of the Dominica Broadcasting Corporation (DBS), of which he was a Board Member 1977-1978 and Acting Manager from1982-1983, the public will be able to listen live or watch the event live on DBS’ YouTube at https://youtu.be/0xrnTRST9tQ
