Dominica’s Bouyon Boss Wins International Soca Awards

Bouyon Boss, Asa Banton, has walked away with two prominent awards at the 16th Annual International Soca Awards online Competition.

The Bouyon Boss won the award for Soca Performer of the Year, Male category and Soca Music Video of the Year (Most Creative Video), Male category. He won the awards for the song, ‘Wet Fete King’.  The video accompanying the song was shot by Dominica’s very own Chad Ambo of Ambo Visuals.

Banton won out of a field of popular artists like Mr.Killa, Kes, Machel Montano and songs like Famalay, One Woman by Motto and Hookin Meh. He said he is elated to have won these awards and is grateful to the fans who voted and media like Emonews. He is proud to be able to represent his country and appreciates the support that he receives.

Asa Banton will be representing Dominica on the Ubersoca Cruise in Turks and Caicos later this year. The cruise which is an international cruise features over 50 Soca artists and DJs from all over the world.

This is the third time that Banton will be featured on this cruise. He represented Dominica last year in Haiti and the year before in Mexico.Congratulations to Asa Banton and his team.
