A 72- member delegation from Dominica is set to participate in the fifteenth edition of the Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA), taking place in Barbados from August 22nd to 31st, 2025.
The delegation is led by the Minister for Culture, Honourable Gretta Roberts, with Chief Cultural
Officer Earlson Matthew serving as Creative Director.
The group includes twenty-six youth delegates who will participate in the Caribbean Youth Village, a platform for young creatives to showcase their talent, connect with regional peers and deepen their appreciation of Caribbean culture and heritage.
CARIFESTA XV, being held under the theme “Caribbean Roots, Global Excellence”, offers a dynamic stage for showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage and creative industries. Dominica will feature during the Opening Parade and Ceremony on August 22nd and host its own Country Night on August 26th.
The Country Night presentation, choreographed by the officers of the Cultural Division, is a theatrical journey through the evolution of Dominican culture. The presentation traces the island’s geological formation, the arrival and contributions of the Kalinago, Europeans and Africans and the island’s cultural transformation through music and dance. The production includes traditional folk elements, Kalinago heritage and the infectious rhythms of Bouyon music The Dominican delegation will also participate in several fringe activities, including Lunchtime Concerts and regional dance showcases. A display at the Grand Market will promote Dominica’s fine art, crafts and locally made products in collaboration with the Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) and the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA).

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
