DOMINICAFIRST/DNDDF TO DONATE FUNDS FROM DOMINICA’S 41ST INDEPENDENCE DANCE IN SUPPORT OF THE BAHAMAS

DominicaFirst (DNDDF Charity in the UK) expresses sympathy and extends condolences to the government and people of the Bahamas who have lost their lives, families, friends, and wellbeing as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian.

Dominicans and national of other neighbouring states empathise with the detrimental impacts of damaged physical infrastructure and emotional suffering that follows such a terrible disaster which the people of the Abacos and Grand Bahama Islands have had to and continue to endure.

As a first step towards assisting the relief effort, DominicaFirst has pledged to donate £1,000 to National Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with the Bahamas High Commissioner in London, His Excellency, Ellison Edroy Greenslade. Additionally, DominicaFirst will donate 50% of the funds raised at the forthcoming Dominica 41st Independence Dance on the 2nd November 2019, which will be held at the Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, 1 Philip Lane, London N15 4JA, from 10 pm to 4 am. DominicaFirst urges the display of wide support for the Independence Dance relief effort or to make a donation via our web site at www.DominicaFirst.com

DominicaFirst and its member charities, which includes DASSSA, DONA, DUKA, WCTI, Slough, Reading and the Dominica Kalinago Association continue to support however we can, and will work alongside the Dominica High Commission in London to assist hurricane relief initiatives.

We are one Caribbean people, and we must never forget the great support that has been afforded to us after numerous storms and hurricanes. Just as we have survived and continue to strive to build a resilient nation, the people of the Bahamas will rise from this tragedy, stronger and more prosperous with all our support.
