Dominica has been chosen as one of 18 beneficiaries in the current OAS Development Cooperation Fund Programming Cycle, themed “Inclusive Resilience for an Effective Recovery.” From Sept. 2 to 26, 2024, Dominica will conduct its “Tourism Sector Skills Enhancement” project to empower 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises in the accommodation and wellness sectors. This project focuses on enhancing their digital presence and operational capacities, positioning them for success in today’s competitive market.
Discover Dominica Authority will lead the OAS training series in collaboration with Outsource Development Studio Inc. This initiative builds on the groundwork of the Needs Analysis and Intervention Strategy Project, funded by the OAS and spearheaded by consultant Elijah Leblanc in October 2023. The insights from this project have been pivotal in shaping the upcoming training sessions.
“This partnership with the OAS and Outsource Development Studio Inc. is a real opportunity to uplift our local businesses and breathe new life into our community. By investing in the skills of our entrepreneurs, we are preparing for the challenges ahead and laying down a foundation for lasting positive change. This initiative has the potential to transform our tourism sector and, in doing so, enrich the experiences of everyone who visits our beautiful island,” said Marva Williams, CEO of Discover Dominica Authority.
The series will address the specific needs of the accommodation, and health and wellness sectors, covering crucial topics such as digital marketing, financial management, sales and marketing, business continuity, supply chain and logistics, product development, risk and safety management, customer service, front desk operations, and housekeeping.
These sessions are expected to boost the operational efficiency of participating businesses, enhance visitor satisfaction, and contribute to the resilience and recovery of Dominica’s tourism sector.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
