International Yoga Day 2022 will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Since 2015, International Yoga Day is observed on June 21 to generate awareness among the public about the importance of Yoga and its effects upon human health.
The observance of International Yoga Day in Dominica is being spearheaded by the Dominica Health and Wellness Association (DHWA) with support from Discover Dominica Authority (DDA). DHWA will commemorate International Yoga Day on Sunday, June 19, 2022, with a day of Yoga at the Kalinago Barana Aute (KBA). A lineup of qualified instructors will be sharing classes with many different styles and practices. There will be a range of yoga classes to include, dance medicine class, yoga to boost immunity, kundalini yoga, yoga for children, and a guided meditation for deep relaxation. Families are invited to a day of fun and togetherness in celebration of the many health benefits that a regular practice of yoga can bring to all ages.
Research indicates that Yoga brings balance and strength to the body and mind. It helps relieve health issues, such as, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems and weight issues. A regular practice of yoga can allow the body to be more flexible, supple, and resistant to injuries. Yoga is also valuable mental health by bringing us to a more peaceful and calmer headspace, alleviating depression, stress, and anxiety.
Wellness, of which Yoga is a component is a key pillar for Dominica’s tourism industry. Activities such as the Cardio Jams done in a natural setting at key sites and attractions and this celebration of yoga at the KBA espouse Dominica’s quest for fitness and wellness to be practiced in nature. DDA invites participation in this event and encourages residents and visitors to craft their own fitness and wellness journey on the Nature Island.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
