Dominica Private Sector Invited to Participate in Survey on the Impact of the Increase in Minimum Wage

Roseau, July 20, 2021 – The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) in collaboration with the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) and the Dominica Manufacturers Association (DMA), seek to capture the perspective of the Private Sector on the impact of the increase in the Minimum Wage which takes effect from September 1st, 2021.
The Business Support Organizations (BSOs) are requesting feedback of the Private Sector through a survey that will provide data to inform their advocacy in representation of the concerns their member and the wider Private Sector. The BSOs urge the Private Sector to respond with urgent attention and feedback to this survey, as the responses would be most valuable in providing appropriate measures to support this change. Feedback is desired by Thursday, 22nd July, 2021.
The BSOs are engaging the Government with ideas on how to mitigate the impact of the impending change. The BSOs look forward to the response of the private sector as with data, advocacy could be enhanced and sound decisions could be made to improve the business climate.
