The Commonwealth of Dominica proudly hosted a 13-member delegation from the Caribbean-Canada Leaders Dialogue (CCLD) this week, strengthening regional and international cooperation through high-level engagement, cultural exchange, and shared dialogue on sustainable development, youth leadership, and innovation.
Notably, Rianna Patterson, country host for Dominica and co-lead of the Caribbean Canada Leader Dialogue, played a pivotal role in the coordination and success of the delegation’s visit. Patterson expressed heartfelt thanks to all stakeholders who contributed to the program’s success.
The CCLD delegation included emerging and established leaders from across the Caribbean and Canada, reflecting a vibrant and diverse partnership focused on mutual growth and global collaboration. During their time in Dominica, the delegation participated in a series of fireside chats, site visits, and cultural immersion activities, engaging with government officials, local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and youth advocates.
The Ambassador for CARICOM and Commissioner to the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) hosted a distinguished closing reception in honor of the Caribbean-Canada Leaders Dialogue (CCLD) 2025 Dominica Study Tour delegates on the 28th of May 2025 at the Dominica Public Service Union.
“It was an honor to welcome the Caribbean-Canada Leaders Dialogue delegation to Dominica,” said Rianna Patterson. “This visit was a powerful reminder of what is possible when great minds come together in a spirit of unity, learning, and shared purpose. I extend my deepest gratitude to our government partners, civil society, and community members who made this experience so impactful.”
The visit emphasized sustainable development, social impact and community engagement —key themes for future cooperation between the Caribbean and Canada. As part of the visit, the delegation toured key ecological and cultural sites across Dominica, including national parks and community-based initiatives focused on resilience and health initiatives.
In addition, four Dominicans were selected to participate on this programme, which includes Lennard Emanuel, Jade Leatham, Daniel Fadelle and Lizra Fabien.
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, is the President of the global organization, following in the footsteps of her father, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, who founded the charity in 1956. Wes Hall serves as Chair of CCLD 2025, with Hemi Mitic as Lead Director from the Canadian Board.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
