Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) has described and remembers Mr. Julius Timothy, who passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, as a public servant who has given himself to the service of the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica for many years in the area of business, politics, and governance.
Mr. Timothy owned and was the Managing Director of AC Shillingford and Company Limited one of the outstanding businesses in Roseau. He served as Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau North Constituency 1995 to 2014. Minister of Finance Industry and Planning in the United Workers Party (UWP) led administration 1995 to 2000. He joined the Dominica Labour Party in 2005 and was appointed as a Minister of government in the Roosevelt Skerrit led administration until 2014.
He also served as President of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) and on a number of statutory boards and committees including the Credit Union Movement in Dominica. He was an avid sports man and contributed immensely to the development of sports on the island.
