The Dominica Festival of the Arts(DOMFESTA) has been cancelled due to COVID-19. This is according to Chief Cultural Officer, Raymond Lawrence.

Raymond says that while the division had already begun advertising the song competition which was a major part of the festival, the decision was taken to cancel the festivities festival until next year.

He praised the artists who have been sharing their pieces on social media as a means of keeping culture alive and keeping folks entertained while at home.

Lawrence commented that a positive outcome of quarantine is that culture is being passed on from one generation to another.

DOMFESTA was usually celebrated in the month of May.
