Doctor Sam Christian has cautioned young people against abusing alcohol especially during carnival.
Christian who is the head of a new Substance Abuse Program whose aim is to rehabilitate alcoholics said, ” We want to safeguard our young people and send a message to the high schools… We want parents and teachers to encourage our young people to increase their awareness of the dangers of alcohol and not just follow with peer pressure”.
Christian says that persons can have fun without being drunk and that one momentary lapse of judgement can affect someone’s life severely. He says that carnival is a wonderful time which doesn’t have to be desecrated by alcohol abuse.
