DHTA Hosts 55th Annual General Meeting Under the Theme “Reimagining Tourism: A New Era for Dominica’s Tourism”

The Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) successfully hosted its 55th Annual General Meeting on January 10, 2025, at Villa Copthall, bringing together key stakeholders in the tourism sector.

Under the theme “Reimagining Tourism: A New Era for Dominica’s Tourism,” the AGM served as a platform for discussions on industry advancements and innovative approaches to tourism development. The event featured an address by the Minister for Tourism, who provided valuable updates on the state of the industry and future initiatives. Attendees also benefited from insights shared by keynote speaker Ms. Dahlia Guard, CEO of the St. Lucia Community Tourism Agency, who highlighted the role of community-driven tourism in sustainable destination growth.

As part of the AGM proceedings, the new Board of Directors for the DHTA was officially
announced:

  • President: Ms. Kitwani Ferreira
  • Immediate Past President: Mrs. Avril Copiel
  • First Vice President: Mr. Gregor Nassief
  • Director of Accommodations: Mr. Herve Nizard
  • Director of Finance and Fundraising: Mr. Sheldon Bruno
  • Director of Membership: Ms. Marcy Gachette
  • Director of Public Relations: Mrs. Samantha Doctrove-Letang
  • Director of Tourism Services: Mr. Hubert Winston
  • Director of Related Services: Ms. Nathalie Roland
  • Discover Dominica Board Seat: Ms. Marva Williams

The DHTA remains committed to fostering collaboration and innovation within the tourism sector, ensuring that Dominica continues to grow as a premier destination in the Caribbean.
