Death announcement of our mother Lucy Bannis (née Severin) of La Plaine and Goodwill, who departed on July 21st at the age of 99 in Toronto, Canada.

She was the last remaining sibling, having been predeceased by her beloved brothers, John, Valentine (Tino) & Francis Severin, and her dear sisters, Clara Severin & Marie Nanton. Though they departed before her, their memories remained close to her heart, and their legacy of family and love lives on through the generations that follow.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas Nathan Bannis and a devoted mother to six sons, Roy, George, Joseph, Charles, Peter, Albert, and five daughters, Myrtle, Joan, Noreen, Mary and Lucia, and she opened her heart fully to Agatha (Aggie) McPhee, embracing her as part of the family she treasured.

She was a devoted grandmother to 22 grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren, Victoria, Aja, Roy Jr., Samantha, Kalen, Adeola, Joel, Anthony, Taj, Okara, Danielle, Tyric, Shari, Jalen, Jeremy, Gabriel, Maya, Yanik, Cheo, Adrian, Charm & Yinka. Her great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Suri, Jacob, Shiphrah, Amy. Her sons-in-law, Karam Sidra, Ashton Daley, Ywain Martin and her daughters-in-law, Joan Barrie, Claudia Panthier, Diane Murray, Brenda Thomas.

She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends across Canada, Dominica, the United States, England, and France. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit touched countless lives and will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 265 Alton Towers Circle, Scarborough, ON M1V 4E7 on Friday, August 7 at 11:00am, with a live stream available at https://ipickart.com/stream/LucyBannis/.

Followed by burial at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery at 7770 Steeles Avenue East Markham, ON, L6B 1A8.

We are thankful for every moment shared, every visit and every memory made. May Lucy Bannis rest in eternal peace.
