We announce the death of Balthazar Eusebe Barrie, also known as Uncle Bal, Teacher Barrie, Mr. B, Bal of Canefield, Dominica who resided in Maryland, USA, passed away June 28, 2025.
He was the husband of Catherine Barrie (deceased). Father of Nathalie, Victoria Barrie-Pereira (Deceased), Joan Bannis, Myrtle Barrie-Jemmott, Coady, Brian, Kenneth (Barrie), Brian Giraudel. Grandfather of seventeen, Great Grandfather of five; Father-in-law to Roy Bannis, Glenn Jemmott, Judith Morris-Barrie, Everlyn Alexander-Barrie, Norma Henry-Barrie, and Andrea Laville-Barrie.
Siblings of Simon Francis, Seraphine Augustine (US) and Eleanor Joseph (LaPlaine), predeceased siblings, Hildegarde Hilaire, Reynold Francis, Edward Francis, Anna Joseph, and Helen Etienne. Nephew of Drina Laronde (UK), Justina George (River Estate), Gaius Eusebe (Delices), Brother-in-law to Norma Small-Warren and Tama Christian-Francis.
He will be especially remembered by the families of Alfred’s, Allan’s, Andre’s, Augustine’s, Bannis’, Baron’s, Bernabe’s, Bertrand’s, Bruney’s, Charles’, Darroux’s, Etienne’s, Eusebe’s, Francis’, Giraudel’s, Grell’s, Guiste’s, James’, JnoBaptiste’s, Laronde’s, Lestrade’s, Leatham’s, Morris’ in Jamaica, Toulon’s, and Cooperative Movement, colleagues Eluid Williams, Clarence Christian, Washburn Cuffy, Goodwill and Canefield communities and Dominican Clergy.
He will also be remembered by his numerous Nieces, Nephews, God children, relatives, friends, and extended families at home and abroad.
Funeral services will be held July 26th in Maryland, USA and streamed by EMO news.
