Death Announcement of 91 year old Catherine Olive Lewis née Rolle, better known as Ma Jauwmen or Ma Simbad of Campbell, who resided at Mahaut and at her daughter’s residence in Jimmit.

We announce the death of 91 year old Catherine Olive Lewis née Rolle, better known as Ma Jauwmen or Ma Simbad of Campbell, who resided at Mahaut and at her daughter’s residence in Jimmit. She died at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital on Friday, July 4, 2025. She left to mourn:

Children: Byron and Eugene (Titi) Florant, Stedman David, Johnson (Bosso) and Curtis Boston, Norma, Eileen, Maureen, McLean and Shappy Lewis

Grand Children: Don and Donell Louisy, Egbert Benjamin, Stedroy David, Jerwin, Curtley, Tresia, Andrisca, Alyson, Tracia and Ciara Boston, Shaprina, Nashma, Janton, Andrew, Justin, Daniel, Indi and Anniesa Lewis, Davis, Marcus, Vernita and, Kevin Florant, Neishia, Brenon and Briana Victor, Greg Joseph and Ashana Smith

30 Great grandchildren:  including Kedelle Louisy, Shadera Lewis and Kaden Williams

Brother: Nicolson Rolle

Sisters: Mona Langlais and Josephine Alexander 

Stepchildren: including Francis, Gloria and Sharon Lewis, and Elizabeth Xavier

Numerous nephews and nieces including Jeannette Darroux, Augustus, Judith and Peter Luck, Merlyn Johnson, Karen Thomas, Monica Esprit, Bernadette Mathis, Curvin Alexander, Cuthbert and Jacqueline Martin and their families

 The funeral of the late Catherine Olive Lewis née Rolle will take place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Canefield Catholic Church.  Viewing at 1:30pm and the funeral Mass begins at 2:00pm. Interment at the Zabrico cemetery in Mahaut
