Death Announcement of 88 year Cecelia John, commonly known as Ma Cecily, of La Plaine, who resided at 9-Houses, Upper Kings Hill and more recently in Antigua

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of 88 year old Cecelia John, commonly known as Ma Cecily from La Plaine, who resided at 9-Houses, Upper Kings Hill, and more recently, in Antigua. She was a member of the North Eastern Funeral Association.

She died on Friday 3rd May 2024 at Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Medical Centre in Antigua.

She leaves to mourn:

One daughter – Ella Peets and her companion Vaughn Pigott in Antigua

Grand Children:  Jessica Lugay in the USA, Shanice Edwards in the UK

Great Grandchildren: Imani, Desean and Bella

Sister: Edith John

Brother: Xavier “Mou-Mou” John

Nieces and Nephews including: Ephnie Roberts-Lesmond and family in St. Lucia, Janice Roberts and family in Martinique, Brian Roberts, Mervin John and family in the USA, Jacqueline John, Anderson John and family in the USA, Mona John and family in the USA, Roosevelt John and family, Tessa John and family, Jennifer Xavier and family in the USA, Jefferson Prosper and family, Linda Prosper and family, Marilyn Dublin and family

Grand nieces and nephew including: Dr. Tamara Augustine Duclaire and family in the USA, Saiid Lewis and family in the USA, Orlannice St. Rose, Kirbryah Roberts

She will also be remembered by numerous other relatives and friends, including: Curvel Bowers, Aldona Vigilante and family, Philomen John, Marie Augustine, Sylvester Jno Baptiste, Marianne George, Paul Hypolite, Kirshten Peter, Lisa Latouche, Sandra Henderson The John, Rodney, and Lestrade families of Laplaine, Neighbours in the 9-Houses area at Upper Kings Hill, The Pigott family in Antigua.

Caregivers at the Finns Institute in Antigua especially: Mrs Christopher ( Matron ), Miss Cealey ( Deputy), Nurse Charles, Nurse Pluck, Nurse Nikie, Nurse Princess

The funeral service and burial will take place in Antigua on Wednesday 5th June 2024.
