We announce the death of retired huckster Philomen Sharplis also known as Philo or Ma Otis
Age: 86 of Moore Park who resided at Fortune and Citronier
She died on Sunday 29th June 2025 at the DCFH.
She left to mourn
4 sons and 4 daughters Eric George, Thomas, Simon, Gerard, Jennifer, Decima, Veronica and Lucia Sharplis.
Grandchildren: Leahrah, Jillian, Nancy, Verna, Gary and Kinte George, Kenny, Joel, Sharlene, Chad, Cody, Jayanie, Ali, Malika, Latoya and Gabriella Sharplis, Wayne Harve, Shanna Bernard, Issaab, Darnel and Chelsea Esprit in New York.
Great grandchildren: Jayceon, Kierra, Paige, Dalia, Diella, Haven, Sundiata, Acey.
Sister: Florita Paul from Belle Maniere.
Step daughter: Gloria Matthew.
Sons in law: Kent Esprit and Francis Valentine.
Nieces and nephews including: Ethel, Alice and Sam Paul.
Friends both here and abroad including the huckster community.
Caretaker: Nurse Ivo Jno Baptiste.
The body of the late Philomen Sharplis also known as Philo or Ma Otis will be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home for viewing at 2:00pm at the People’s Pentecostal Family Church, Goodwill on Friday 25th July 2025. Funeral Service begins at 2:30pm followed by interment at the Roseau Public Cemetery.
