Death Announcement of 86 year old Joan Maynard née Douglas, fondly known as Ma Maynard, beloved wife of the late Hon. Charles Maynard.

We announce with deep sadness the passing of 86 year old Joan Maynard née Douglas, fondly known as Ma Maynard, beloved wife of the late Hon. Charles Maynard. She peacefully left us on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the China Friendship Hospital. 

  She will be lovingly remembered by: 

  Children: Carl, Annmarie and Yvonne Maynard 

  Grandchildren: Shanice Lazare and Durelle Maynard 

  Great-grandchild: Sjaelan Watt 

  Daughter-in-law: Martha Loblack-Maynard 

  Sisters: Lucia, Julie, Ann, Alice, Gloria and their families 

  Brothers: Dr. Forch Douglas, Anthony, Diane, Martin and their families 

  In-laws: Michael Diez, Haynes Jacob, Karen Douglas and Debbie Douglas 

  Nieces, Nephews and Godchildren too numerous to mention 

  Relatives: Joan Cools Lartigue & Family, David Jones and the Douglas, Burton, Rabess and Georges families 

  Close family friends: Athene Shillingford, Patricia Blaize, Mrs. Xavier, Debra Blackman, Antonillia Doctrove & family, The Loblack Family, Delroy Watt, Lena Roach, Kelvin Francis, The Defreitas family, The John family of Mahaut, Maria Carnoville, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit & Family, Fr. Thomas, Fr. Jno Lewis, Fr. Caregivers: Lorima, Shermina, and Precious 

The viewing of the body will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Interment follows at the Roseau Roman Catholic Cemetery.
