Death Announcement of 85-year-old Vilna Royer also known as Teacher Vilna of Pointe Michel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of 85-year-old Vilna Royer also known as Teacher Vilna of Pointe Michel. She died on January 29th, 2025. She was a Former Principal of the St. Luke’s Primary School.

She will be remembered by:

Daughter: Bertilia LeBlanc-McKenzie

Grandchildren: Dr Garvey McKenzie, Dr Makeda McKenzie and Sage McKenzie.

Son-in-law Severin McKenzie

Sister: Rosy Antia Royer

Grandnieces: Sandra and Stacey Lantan

Nieces and nephews: Adeline Dubois-David, Debra Pemberton-Remy, Ruldolphia St. Paul; Terry, Andrew and Martin Balson; Annabella Delauney, Caryle Jno. Baptiste, Cornie St. Hilaire; Cornelia, Icela, Hubert, Calvin and Wilbert Peter. Judith Lugay, Maria Samuel, Claudette Etienne, Modestine Charles, Alice Thomas; Wendell and Kervin Daniel; Vincent and Celsus Adrien; Rubia William, Ruby Anselm; Clifton, Ronald, Grace, Rena, Roy, Roderick and Preston Royer.

She will also be remembered by former students and staff of the St. Luke’s Primary School, the community of Pointe Michel and management and staff of PHARCS.

The funeral service will take place at 3p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Pointe Michel, Dominica. Viewing will be at 2:30p.m. Interment will take place at the Pointe Michel Roman Catholic Cemetery,
