Death Announcement of 82 year old Catherine Nelson of Gutter Portsmouth

We announce the death of Catherine Nelson, age 82 of Gutter, Portsmouth. She died at the PHARCS Nursing Home in Morne Daniel on February 15, 2022.

She was a member of the North Eastern Funeral Association.

She has left to mourn:

Five Children – Ruth Gilchrist, Ruthine, Gilbert, & Ryan Nelson in England, Cynthia
Nelson in Dominica.

Seven Sisters – Enid Davis, Francisca Jules, Joan and Christabel James in St. Thomas, Maudline Joseph and Gloria Toussaint in Dominica, Gerda Toussaint in Antigua.

One brother – Hilary James in Miami

Five grandchildren – Christopher, Francesca and Tashana Nelson, Lauryn Gilchrist
and Jessica Padruth in England.

Three Great Grandchildren – Keiko and Karma Williams and Khyla Padruth in
England

One great-great grandchild – Kamrona’e Williams in England

Two Daughters-in-Law – Hyma and Drucilla Nelson in England

One Son-in-Law – Derrick Gilchrist in England

Four Sisters-in-Law – Ruby James in Miami, Jeanette Nelson in England, Edillia
Richards and Rena Romain in St. Thomas.

Two Brothers-in-Law – Casimir Jules in St. Thomas and Olga Romain in St. Croix.

Cousins – Cana and Sony Soudin in St. Lucia.

Nieces – Kelly Hill and Colleen Rolland in England, Irose Joseph in Canada, Rose
Andre, Iona Joseph and Josephine Boyer in Antigua, Alison Jno. Baptiste, Coral
Robertson, Jenelle and Jezelle Jules, Josette Pemberton, Miranda James, Barbara
and Joella Jermaine in the US, Natasha, Juliette Thomas in St. Thomas, Nadia Frank,
Nadine, Mona, Martina and Laurencia Laville and Morine Joseph in Dominica.

of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, Neville Toussaint, Elvis and Eddison
Laville in Dominica, and Alex Laville in France.

Step Nephew – Ricky Nelson in England

Close friends – Mrs. Pascal and Mrs. Pierre in Dominica and Mrs. Merrile in the UK.
She will be also be remembered by the Gutter Community in Portsmouth, the Bastiens,
Soudine Family, Benjamin Family, Toussaint Family, Members of the Ex Londoners
group, The Catholic Community of Portsmouth, Home Carers :- Angel, Amie, Noreen,
& Jeanillia, Staff of Pharcs Residential Nursing Home, other relatives and friends,
names too numerous to mention.

The body of the late Catherine Nelson will be viewed from 9:30 am on 18th March 2022
at the Portsmouth Roman Catholic Church; the service will take place at 10:00 am and
interment follows at the Portsmouth Roman Catholic Cemetery
