Death Announcement of 75 year old Teacher Bernard Henderson of Bagatelle

We announce the death of Mr. Bernard Henderson also known as Teacher Bernard aged 75 of Bagatelle. He died on December 24th 2021. He was a retired teacher, a lay associate in pastoral care in the St. Patrick’s Parish, former BOD member of the GBCCU and current treasurer of the Dominica Essential Oils and Spices. 

He will be remembered by his wife Cecily Henderson, his sons Cedric, Kelvin, Neville and Clyde Henderson.  Daughters Florence Julius (teacher at the Pierre Charles Secondary School), Vernessa Henderson, Delma Laghezza in New York and Janella Nicholas in Antigua.

10 Grandchildren: Francine, Benton and Rishon Julius; Jayden and D’Janna Henderson; Jackie, Janelle, Jana and Josiah.

4 Great grandchildren Shermaih, Miracle, Jess and Jaden.

1 Step-Grand-daughter Nikisha Maximen.

Daughters in law Sophie and Valina Henderson.  Sons in law Carlton Julius, Evans Alex Nicholas and Patrick Laghezza.

Brothers Declan and Patrick Henderson.  Sisters in-law Catherine Henderson and Anestasie Stoute. Brothers in-law Cecil and James Moise.

Nieces Sandra, Ezra, Brenda, Lyn, Fredericka, Janie,

Nephews Khan, Desmond, Daniel

Close relatives include Aunts Matilda Isles and Maudriana Henderson. Cousins Ivor Isles, Andrew Fontaine, Eugenia Fontaine; Jarett, Jones, Morison and Francis Joseph.

He will also be remembered by members of the clergy including Fathers Branker John, Peter Wamutitu, Elveau Augustine, Frantzo Simbert, Francis Nwachukwu, Cardinal Kelvin Felix, Msgr William Jno Lewis.

Close friends include the families of Peterson Fontaine in England, Stefan Fontaine in Canada, Nella in England, Nasio Fontaine, Mr. Eluid Williams, Simon Fontaine, Arthur Francis, Marcelyn Moise, John Fontaine, Derick Francis, Roy Fontaine, Marvlyn St. Hiliare, Dorian Thomas, Steven Martin, Austin Guiste; The Stoute family at Stowe Estate, Lawrence Anselm and other members of the Zabet Farmers group and Kervin.

Special mention Nurse Claudia Francis, Nurse Lavinier, Nurse Gregoire, Dr Newton and Dr. Deschausey. 

Other relatives and friends from Bagatelle, Petite Savanne and Grand Bay too numerous to mention.

Funeral Mass is on Friday 7th January 2022 at 2pm at the Grand Bay Catholic Church Sacred Space.  Interment follows at the Grand Bay Catholic cemetery.

Strict COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to, please be guided accordingly.
