The reigning Junior Monarch, Malik ‘De Examiner’ Darroux successfully defended his crown.
Malik who represented the St.Mary’s Academy performed ‘Visions’ written by Jerry Lloyd. The song depicted the negative effects video games may have on persons.
Malik said, “I am happy and excited at winning, I was confident despite the challenges, but I knew that once I did not make any mistakes I would be safe”.
The First Runner up position went to Jedan ‘De Jed’ Jno Baptiste of the Dominica Grammar School with a song entitled ‘Lost Boys’ written by Pat Aaron, while second runner up went to Cizanne ‘Cizlight’ Peter of St. John’s Academy with “My pledge” written by Fitzroy Hilton. Third runner up went to Adrien ‘De Magician’ Piper with a song entitled ‘It’s over’ written by Ian ‘Jacko’ Jackson.
The other participants were Torah ‘De Essence ‘ Darroux of Wesley High School, Nyliah ‘Nali G’ George of St.Martin Secondary and Carina ‘Singing C’ Audain of the Convent High School.
