The Dominica-America Scholarship and Culture, Inc. (DASCI); is a 501(c) (3), not-for-profit organization consisting of members born in Dominica or of Dominican background. It was formally incorporated in 2009 and is based in South Florida. In addition to getting together to celebrate our culture, DASCI’s main purpose is to raise funds to provide annual scholarships to students entering high school in Dominica, and college-bound minority high school students in St. Lucie county, Florida. To date, with the help of our supporters, we have awarded 69 scholarships with a combined value of US$ 41,200.
We are currently in our 2021 fundraising drive, and we are soliciting financial support to further the education of our young people and set them up for success. I can confirm that DASCI members work very diligently to ensure that Dominican Elementary students receive scholarships. Most of the scholarships are given to Dominicans and the plan in 2021 is to give 10 scholarships.
