DAIC Hosts 3-Part Series on the Economic Partnership Agreements and Market Intelligence

Roseau, October 19, 2022 – The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) invites its Members, Exporters, Importers, and other all with interest in leveraging the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and Market Intelligence tools to attend this 3-Part Series hosted on October 19th, November 9th and December 13th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM via Zoom.

Economic Partnership Agreements are good opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to engage in the development of a strategy to adapt to a globalizing economy. MSMEs make up a majority of the domestic business transactions and are critical in emerging economies, however, only play a limited role in international trade. Given their size and diversity of sectors, MSMEs are highly adaptable between the developed and developing economies, provided that trade barriers are negated. Accordingly, MSMEs are global economies’ greatest marginal opportunity for growth if they are actively engaged in EPA implementation and their trade issues are effectively addressed. Issues unique to MSMEs relate to the need for trade reforms in areas such as Access to Markets; Access to Technology; Access to Finance; and Access to Skills.

Maximizing the opportunities under facilities like the CARIFORUM-EU and the CARIFORUM-UK EPA are crucial to transforming our economies, creating jobs, advancing our private sector, and building a resilient Dominica and Caribbean. This series, therefore, is intended to address the inhibiting factors that affect the maximization of MSMEs in global trade, particularly the CARIFORUM-EU and the CARIFORUM-UK EPA.

The series will focus on keys in understanding and leveraging the EPA, market intelligence tools with insights in determining what is in demand, and export readiness for international markets. The facilitator, Mrs. Jillian La Rocque will lead all attendees through engaging sessions to maximize opportunities from the sessions.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
