The Cooperative Division celebrates Junior Cooperative Week under the theme, “Building Resilience through Junior Cooperative”. Education & Training Officer Ms. Paula Williams informed that the highlight of the week will be a consultation on “Savings Programs” which will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dominica Public Service Union Building.
Ms. Williams stated that the Cooperative Division’s objectives are to strengthen school savings programs; encourage other forms of school cooperatives as a means of getting students to be more involved in the cooperative movement and to recognize the contribution of teacher guides. Teacher guides, Ms. Williams said, are those teachers who administer the savings program at the schools.
Students from secondary schools in the south, east, and part of the western districts will also attend the consultation.
